Impact of urbanization on highly marginalized populations such as the NT-DNTs - who significantly contribute to the building and existence of cities, but are excluded from their benefits. It was written to advocate for a more humane and constitutional urban development process which includes not just building infrastructure but in behaviour, services, mobility and accessibility.

Based on the author's experiences of relief work with NT-DNT, Adivasi, highly informal worker and migrant communities during the first wave of COVID. The pandemic was a double emergency - throwing up questions of life and death for these communities - injuring their mental, physical, economic, political, social health and justice for generations to come.

Traces the disastrous reality faced by the criminalized, stigmatized, invisibalized NT-DNT communities in the sudden first COVID wave and nation-wide lockdown.
It also describes the efforts launched by a grassroot network of NT-DNT workers, racing against time to not only reach the most vulnerable within these neglected communities, but also striving to bring their voices to the mainstream - with no resources, and hardly any civil society or government help.
