"This paper argues that issues such as language barriers between the women and medical fraternity, criminalisation by the police, and extreme deprivation- are more intense than faced by the general poor- are unique to women of NT/DNT communities. The NT-DNT communities face extreme deprivation of basic resources such as identity documents, shelter, sanitation, education support, workplace safety, and transportation, which further deny women their sexual and reproductive rights."

-Deepa Pawar writes in her recently published paper in Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters, Volume 29, Issue 2.
